April Ross
April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players who have earned medals at least twice in an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. Perhaps it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. But she's still certain of taking top honors. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your top, even if you play well we will get the gold. Also, I'll take the opportunity to try my chance. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. In addition to competing in various sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor track and volleyball. But she clearly was superior to the rest in the latter sport. In her college profile, she was an outside hitter middle blocker, as well as a setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. For her efforts she was named an 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. Her skills in volleyball earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in the year 2000. While Ross Klineman and Ross are in the spotlight since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time athlete on the beach long before their pairing. In reality, she was a winner of multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. one of whom is a volleyball icon. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 through 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the 2009 World Championships. The duo took silver in London's Olympics. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she retired. In 2016, the duo took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a college player at USC Trojans prior to beginning starting her professional career. She was a player in high school and in some years before she hit the beaches as a professional. The Trojans had a great run for Ross at the university. She was a All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year when she was a teen freshman. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach into the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she was devastated by a personal setback, but she was able to repeat as an All-American. Through her two final years of participation in the Trojans program, she guided the team to win a national championship every time. In 2003-04, Ross was named the best female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the privilege of watching her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mom died from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. She continues to cherish her mother who died. Margie, on the beach as well as in her everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
